When you make a donation to a charity, do you ever wonder if they are using your donation to benefit people, or if you are just lining the pockets of some overpaid executive?
Over the years, I have developed a close relationship with each of the three organizations listed below. I offer my endorsement of these organizations based on personal experience. These are good people, doing good work. Your donations will be appreciated and well spent.
Archie Edwardss Blues Heritage FoundationThis is a wonderful group of musicians playing accoustic blues. They welcomed me into their weekly jam sessions without hesitation. If you enjoy listening to, or playing music and would like to contribute to an organization that is working hard and having fun educating and entertaining others, this is the place to do it!You can read all about who they are and what they do on the web page.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Washington DCI served on the Board of Directors of RMHC for 7 years. During that time, I had the opportunity to review the books at every board meeting. RMHC provides housing for families of seriously ill children while they are recieving treatment at one of the nearby hospitals. There is very little, or no cost to the families who stay there. The refrigerators are always stocked with food. There are no outragous salaries paid to anyone in this organization. A very large portion of all the donations go directly to serving the people who stay in the house.
The Assistance Fund (TAF) TAF helps people with a large variety of medical conditions afford prescription drugs. They help a lot of people and they have my endorsement.
